Help for younger people to overcome their problems

The importance of choosing an Accredited specialist: If you want help for your young family member, in order to achieve a satisfactory result, you don’t want to end up using a succession of failed trials with the patient ending up dismissing the help that has been offered. Using an Accredited BABCP/BACP practitioner, ensures the best opportunity for a successful outcome.

I have previously worked as a counsellor for a large school in Kent treating young adolescents for anxiety and depression. Later I took up a full time post with the NHS working for several years with GP practices and specialising in a diverse range of client issues, primarily using CBT and Person-Centred models.

More recently in private practice, I have been successfully helping young adolescents (age range 11 to 18 years) with anxiety disorders, including:

  • Exam & School related stress & anxiety
  • Vomit phobia (Emetophobia)
  • Anger management
  • Social anxiety
  • Health anxiety
  • Needle phobia
  • Panic attacks
  • Post-Traumatic Stress
  • Agoraphobia/unable to attend school or college
  • Early onset OCD & obsessive thinking
  • Peer pressure & bullying
  • Body dysmorphia
  • Eating disorders
  • Depression & self-harm

I work closely with parents in developing and modifying treatment plans, and most of my young clients are personally recommended from families I have previously worked with.

Please do not hesitate to call me personally if you would like to discuss, in confidence, how CBT and/or counselling may help your child.
