Professional Development

To meet The BABCP accreditation requirements I attend conferences and workshops and training programmes on a frequent basis to learn about new research and developments and to develop and enhance my therapeutic skills. I have monthly individual and peer clinical supervision to meet The BABCP requirements and for my own professional development.

Profesional Clinical Experience

2001-current

I am a CBT psychotherapist in a tier 3 specialist CAMHS, working with children, young people and families with a wide range of mental health/developmental conditions.

I manage a complex case load which necessitates liaising with other health/educational professionals and supporting services.
I am an independent practitioner working in family and multidisciplinary teams.

Within the family therapy team I specialize in working with individuals with eating disorders.

My post carries a clinical, consultation, research, educational and training aspect to which I contribute.

Within CAMHS I have established a peer supervision group and provide supervision/consultation on an individual basis.

I am particularly interested in developing a Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT) group, as a relapse prevention model. In preparation for this I attend a Mindfulness training programme.

I have been the CAMHS representative, sharing responsibility for taking the lead on CBT related issues within the NHS Trust.
